Big Boy!

Brig had his 6 mo doctors appointment on Thursday. He is finally on the growth chart!!!! He weighed 14 lbs 12 oz and was 24.25 in long. The doctor finally gave us the okay to start solids (we didn't tell her that we had tried some off and 0n already) .... so we gave Brig cereal and he loved it. He ate more than she said he would - he just kept opening his mouth and leaning towards the spoon.

Busy Week

This has been a busy week around the Hofmann home. Last Sunday Brig hung out with surrogate grandma Gloria while Ross and I went to Estes Park to celebrate our anniversary (actually Aug 4). We all had a great time! Monday was not such a great day...I had to have Amber, our golden retriever put to sleep. It was a very difficult decision, but it was time. I miss her! She and I have been through alot! On Wednesday Brig had an appointment at the rehab clinic for a developmental screening...the results were good. For his adjusted age of 4 months he is in the average range (50 - 75 %ile for those like me who are used to dealing with such numbers) We feel truely blessed that he is doing so well and is so healthy considering he arrived so early! We ended our week by having more family pictures taken today. We wore matching shirts that Grammy & Grampy Hanson bought us when they went to Hawaii in March.

Busy Weekend

We had a busy weekend! On Saturday we drove to Winter Park to hang out with Grammy & Grampy Hanson at the art show. Brig loved watching all the people! On Sunday Brig tried out his new chair - time to start working on sitting so we can try real food. Then Sunday evening our friend Mike Doddridge came to visit. Mike hadn't seen Brig since Feb. (in the NICU) so I am sure it was like seeing a completely different baby. In another year or 2 Brig will be begging Mike for rides ;-)

Denver aquarium

We decided to drive to Denver to visit the aquarium. Brig enjoyed watching the people and the fish! Pics are in the slideshow

1st trip to the mountains

Brig and I took a small vacation last week to the mountains to hang out with Grammy, Grampy and Uncle Aaron. We had a good time...Shopping with grammy, looking at the mountain streams with grampy and hanging out with Uncle Aaron. Brig dressed appropriately and tried to get a job at the golf course with Uncle Aaron - Ross was hoping ;-) Brig got to experience "camping" with grammy and grampy and we hung out at an art show.

Yesterday Brig had a doctor's appointment for a weight check.... He weighed 12 lbs 9 oz.

Happy 4th of July!

We had a great 4th of July. Brig's aunt Ronda and cousin Nick came to stay with us Thursday night and all day Friday. We went to the Greeley Stampede Independance Day Parade Friday morning (The largest 4th of July parade in the country). We had to "reserve" our spot along the parade route on Monday by staking a tarp with our name down along the street. Brig did pretty well... he got upset with some of the noises like the marching bands that came by - but that will be better in the years to come. We rested in the afternoon and Grandma Winchell joined us later in the afternoon. Fireworks began before it got dark and Brig didn't like the noise. So....he was in bed before Daddy and cousin Nick set off some of their own fireworks.
