I haven't been very good about keeping up with this blog. Brig is starting his second year of preschool and has grown physically, mentally and emotionally! He loves school and learning which does my heart good. In the past year (since my last post), Brig has mastered potty training, learned to dress himself, grown enough that he can turn lights on and off for himself, learned to write his name, is starting to learn to read some words, has learned how to interact with other kids and many other things. At times he challenges us as parents because he sooo has a mind of his own. He knows what he wants and can be quite upset when it isn't that way. He is incredibly observant! He has a great sense of direction. He knows when we are in Brighton vs. Thornton, etc. He sees and remembers things we didn't even notice or thought was insignificant. Brig has a great imagnation. He is great with pretending and loves to dress up as a super hero, a Husker football player or as a marching band member. At this point when he grows up he wants to be a super-hero or an MMA fighter. Lucky me ;-) We lost our kitty Cali and went in search of a new kitten. Brig wanted a baby one. We spent a day looking in every place we could think of - Pet's Mart, shelters and pet stores. Our last stop at a pet store had 2 kittens. One black and white male and a Tabby female. I took out the female and let Brig pet her. He immediately said "we should buy this kitty". He hadn't said this all day with any of the other kittens we had played with and petted. It seems that this was meant to be his kitty. She loves him even tho at times he isn't very nice in getting her out of his food or when he is mad at her for "retacking" him. I'm looking forward to this new school year and seeing all the new things he learns this year!!
